First of all, you can clearly see how the place has been recently renovated: it's modern and cozy at once, with beautiful furniture and pleasant background music. I came here cause some locals told me I could find some decent Chinese food, but I was happy to find sushi too (delicious by the way). Last, but not least, the service was really good and professional, with all the courses arriving at the right moment and the waiters being kind and helpful. The food was delivered on time and was still warm when it arrived, which is always a plus. I decided to go for the menu of the month and was delighted with the selection of dishes. The mini loempia and Pisang Goreng were both delicious and packed with flavor. The Babi Pangang was a standout dish, with a perfect balance of flavors and a nice crispy texture. The Foe Yong Hai was also a great choice, with a tasty egg and tomato sauce, and a variety of vegetables. The Kung Po Kai was a great option for those who like a bit of spicy food. All in all, the food was very well-priced, and without a lot of flavor enhancer. The Big Nasi goreng was also fantastic, I was impressed with the generous portion of meat and vegetables in it. The overall taste was very good with the right level of spiciness, and the rice was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend Merrygold Chinese takeaway restaurant in Roden.
